Rohan Chavan Architects was established in Mumbai in 2015 with the intent to work on projects and issues associated with public and community sanitation, urban design, affordable and low-cost housing, single-family homes, space design, and institutions.
They fuse modern materials with vernacular patterns, creating timeless spaces rich in light and landscape. Notable projects include The Lightbox, redefining urban toilets, and Pause Restrooms, promoting equity and well-being for truck drivers. Completed projects encompass the House with Different Roofs, Balasaheb Thackeray Memorial Park, and the first phase of Vivoli affordable housing scheme.

Founded in 2007 by Vinu Daniel, Wallmakers focused on questioning the necessity of construction in the current climate crisis. They use discarded materials, especially mud and waste, to create utilitarian yet appealing structures. The practice believes in understanding and using materials easily available around a site or in building with waste. Their innovations include the Debris Wall and Shuttered Debris Wall, ensuring both structural viability and sustainability. Wallmakers collaborates closely with communities, involving builders and craftspeople in iterative design and construction processes.
