Studio 4000 | India

STUDIO 4000, an Ahmedabad-based architecture firm, is helmed by Khushboo and Smit Vyas. Inspired by South Asia's cultural and ecological nuances, the practice delves into diverse scales and programs, from Kandla Port's infrastructural projects to houses and furniture design. Emphasizing placeness and human involvement, they explore architecture as a gathering of views and energies. As a mode of worldmaking, STUDIO 4000 acknowledges a multiplicity of processes by participating in their creative play. Before it is a specific position on programme, design language, or a site, the work is a gathering—an occasion where many views, energies, and realities meet. For enhanced interaction, each encounter seeks openings in the hardened definitions of use and appearance through dialogue and sharing of experience.
